Inglemoor Wins 10th in a Row

Viks Beat #2 Newport 9-2

 

Leaders of the two divisions met this afternoon as Newport hosted Inglemoor. The Vikings wasted no time in establishing themselves scoring 2 in the 1st inning off the Newport ace. Conor Savage scored on a driving double by Mitchell Gunsolus who  then scored himself on a ground ball by Peter Meuisi.  Newport responded with a run in the bottom of the inning but the Viks scored 3 more times in the 3rd to go up 5-1.  Savage scored again on an RBI single by Ethan Yeo.  Scott Meyers Sac Fly scored Gunsolus (who had 4 Runs on the day) and Craig Jacobson's single plated Yeo to cap the inning. Inglemoor scored in each of the next 3 innings to pull away and secure the victory. The big blows were RBI doubles by Yeo and Meyers.  Inglemoor's starting pitcher Obidiah Taylor threw a solid 5 innings against the Knights. Taylor allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and struck out four to get another Win.  Dustin Doucette relieved Taylor and threw two scoreless frames to finish the game.
