Vikings Rally Behind Meyers to Take Tough Irish Squad The Vikings jumped out to an early lead on a Scott Meyers 3 run blast in the 1st over the reigning State Champion Odea Irish at Valhalla. Inglemoor then squandered a very solid performance by starting pitcher Spencer Trautman allowing 5 runs in the 4th - 4 unearned. The Viks turned to junior Dustin Doucette who quelled the Irish momentum allowing just 1 hit in 2 1/3 innings. Down 2 runs late in on a rainy evening at Valhalla, the Viks responded with a run in the bottom of the 5th on singles by Peter Meuisi and Craig Jacobson and a Sac Fly by centerfielder Marc Dickerson. Inglemoor was unable to plate runners in the 6th from 3rd and moved into the 7th down a run. Senior Brandon Cook relieved Doucette and threw the 7th allowing 1 hit striking out the final Odea batter. The Vikings came to the plate in the rain and promptly got to the Irish closer. A Marc Dickerson single and a Mitchell Gunsolus double led the Irish to intentionally walk big Ethan Yeo. Scott Meyers came to the plate and delivered a crushing two run double to the wall to give his Vikings the big 'W' over a very tough and classy Odea team. Meyers box score reads 2-3, 2B, HR & 5 RBI........ and one Viking Win !
