VIKINGS DEFEAT SPARTANS

Jacobson plates GWRBI in 9th

The Skyline Spartans visited Valhalla this evening on a 4 game win streak looking for a 5th. Inglemoor was looking to get back on the horse after a disappointing Friday. It took all evening and 9 innings to decide but the Vikings came out with the victory - their 13th on the year.   Inglemoor scored 3 runs early led by singles by Ethan Yeo and Peter Meuisi but could not muster much more off Skyline pitching. Senior Spencer Trautman kept the Spartans at bay through 4 innings leaving with the game tied at 4.  Dustin Doucette entered and carried his lack luster teammates who missed numerous opportunities to add runs. The Viks rode Deuce through the next 5 frames as he struck out 9. His only real mistake was a 9th inning double by the Spartans tough 3 hitter that scored two.   Down 2 and now playing with the intensity they are known for, Inglemoor battled away for base runners. Both Mitch Gunsolus & Ethan Yeo found the base paths and Marc Dickerson then doubled to score Gonzo. A Wild pitch scored Yeo. Meuisi earned a base on balls and Syline intentionally walked Emmett Maki to fill the bases. A pop up gave the Spartans a big out but also brought Craig Jacobson to the plate. 'Jacoby' delivered a sharp single up the middle to  scored the game winner and keep the Vikings 3 games up on in the Crown division.
