INGLEMOOR BEATS RAIN, THEN MARINER FOR WIN A couple quick changes after the varsity game was washed at Mariner quickly turned out to be a chilly but nice night for baseball at Valhalla. Mariner followed their JV to Ingelmoor and opted to play the Vikings at Ingelmoor at 6:30 PM Thursday night. Spencer Trautmann got back on the hill for the first time in '09 and threw 2 positive innings for IHS battling as needed to post two zeros on the score board. The Viking offense opened up early scoring 2 in the 1st on doubles by Jordan Sui and Ethan Yeo. In the 3rd, Scott Meyers knocked in Yeo again on a towering double off the wall. The Vikings turned the ball over to another first timer in '09 senior lefty Austin Hueter who worked through a shrinking zone for 2 innings but eventually found the groove. He allowed 1 run before handing the ball to junior Tyler Duringer. The Bull Dog pitched the 5th striking out 1 and giving up 1 Mariner score. The Vikings scored 11 runs in the 4th & 5th innings on doubles by Yeo again, an RBI double by Soph Mitchell Gunsolus and a triple by big Erick Raynes, However, the big bang came off the bat of senior 2nd baseman Trevor McMaster who hit a screaming laser over the LF fence ending the game with a Walk Off Grand Slam. Vikes get first Win 14-2.
